What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper - PRN position at Memorial Regional Health?
Position Purpose: This position is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness at MRH. Preventing cross contamination, infection minimizing air borne bacteria and ensuring an aseptic environment.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
Position Specific Performance Expectations:
- Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition with thorough washing and
- Disinfecting of infectious
- Use safety precautions in all housekeeping
- Operate various mechanized cleaning equipment such as vacuum and carpet
- Responsible for disposal of trash, biohazardous waste, and other disposable
- Empty soiled linen
- Re-stock clean linin, towels,
- Empty clean linen
- Washing windows, dusting, vacuuming and
- Clean sinks, mirrors, commodes, showers, and walls within the
- Check all vacant rooms daily.
- Report any needed repairs to the
- Positive and supportive team member to the Environmental Services
- Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation
- Attend staff
- Able to operate computer to take on-line training and to read
- Interaction in solving problems ad work as a team with other
- Demonstrate a professional and caring
- Strives to ensure continual compliance with Department and Memorial Regional Health Policies and Procedures as well as State and Federal regulations.
- Can identify and access system to report abuse of employees and/or
- Adheres to policies and procedures for infection control, safety and risk
- Perform other duties as

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (21 for driving positions).
- Must be able to legally work in the United
- Must be able to pass a background
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
- Must complete employee health
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Unencumbered License/Certification (if applicable).
Experience:
- Housekeeping experience
Position Classification: Non-exempt
Compensation Range: $17.50 to $21.54
