Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and successful individual with a background in image analysis and artificial intelligence to work in the Heme AI Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Gregory M. Goldgof, MD, PhD. This laboratory is developing AI-based diagnostics to assist with the diagnosis and management of patients with leukemias and other diseases of the blood and bone marrow. A successful applicant will have a BS, MS, or PhD, with previous experience in training deep learning methods for image detection, classification, or segmentation, as well as previous experience working with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. Comfort basic methods in data science are also a requirement. Additional experience with software development, cloud computing, or web application development is a plus, but not a requirement. A track record of successful publications and scientific writing skills are also highly desirable. A background in statistical methods is also highly desirable. An interest in entrepreneurship is also desirable. Knowledge of healthcare and biology are not requirements.
The ideal candidate should have:
- Experience with deep learning methods for image analysis such as YOLO, ResNet, Inception, U-Net, VGG, DinoV2, MAE, GANs. Experience training and evaluating one or more of these in past research published projects is a requirement.
- Python programming and experience with machine learning and data science libraries such as PyTorch, OpenCV, and Pandas.
- Experience working UNIX, git, github.
- Desirable:
- An advanced degree in CS, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience with deep learning algorithm development
- Experience with multimodal data-integration methods
- Experience with Django web framework, Docker, AWS, software development
