We are Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort, a family-centric RV resort with many activities for kids and adults alike. We offer RV sites, camping cabins, lodges, and tent sites. Our amenities include a large pool, hot tub, splash park, multiple playgrounds, mini golf, bocce ball, horseshoes, basketball, disc golf, hiking trail, RC racetrack, and a fishing pond. We are also a whistle-stop for the historic and famous Skunk Train.

Our company is looking for a Maintenance Person to work with our team to maintain the efficiency and cleanliness of our facilities. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for a range of cleaning tasks and will be on hand during normal business hours to offer assistance to our team members.
JOB SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of management, this position is responsible for performing various custodial and auxiliary operational support duties at Mendocino Redwoods RV Resort. Responsibilities include but are not limited to cleaning and maintaining buildings, facilities, and groundskeeping. In addition, this position aims to help maintain the campground and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for campground guests, visitors, and community residents. You must be good with people.
MAJOR DUTIES: Prepares campground facilities for daily use. Operates various power tools, landscaping tools, and equipment. Maintains and cares for assigned tools and equipment.
Cleaning will be required, which includes, but is not limited to, removing trash from buildings and grounds. Sweep, vacuum, and mop. Washes windows and doors. Cleans event rooms, offices, kitchens, stockrooms, and other areas. Cleans restrooms, including cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, replacing soap and paper products, and emptying trash cans. Dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
Performs maintenance duties and minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs. Assists in the completion of capital maintenance projects as directed. Cross-trains within each area of campground operations to develop competency in multiple capacities to provide consistent service levels as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING IS PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED.
- Knowledge of building maintenance methods and practices.
- Knowledge of operational best practices and safety rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals.
- Skill in performing minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs.
- Skill in using various bench, hand, and power tools.
- Skill in operating lawn maintenance equipment, including rotary mowers, edging instruments, tractors, spreaders, and trimmers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is performed while standing, walking, stooping, bending, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must be able to distinguish between shades of color. Work includes multi-tasking and the ability to complete a list of directives.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is performed indoors and outdoors and may include inclement weather. The employee is exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and irritating chemicals. The work may occasionally require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with high school or equivalent completion.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid state-issued driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Previous experience in general repair, maintenance, and landscape management practices.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
