GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Under the direct supervision of the IT Service Manager, the purpose of the position is to provide desktop and software support for employees of the organization.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs, maintains, and upgrades hardware and software on the desktop and mobile devices along with associated peripherals.
Performs troubleshooting analysis of desktops, mobile devices, and associated peripherals using a variety of tools and applies fixes to mediate the problem(s) found.
Works directly with the customer to assist with software support of Microsoft applications and other software used by MITW.
Installs and maintains on premise network wiring – Cat5 and Cat6
Installs and maintains network printers in conjunction with other technical service area staff.
Completes semi-annual health check and updates of all computers and peripherals. Assesses current condition and applies fixes to improve performance.
Provides staffing of the Help Desk as required.
Teams with other IT support staff on projects as required.
Assists in performing the duties of other staff in their absence or based on workload.
Manages assigned service calls through completion, including the prompt and accurate updating of detailed service call resolutions and ensures that customer department service expectations are met.
Attends seminars and trainings as directed by Information Technology Director.
Perform other related duties as directed.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of Associate’s degree in Information Technology, IT Support or closely related IT field. Prefer three (3) years’ experience in IT support. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other Microsoft products, Adobe and general business and government software desired. Microsoft certifications or Comp TIA a plus.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate selected for hire will be subject to a drug test and employment will be contingent upon the results of said test.
Must submit a valid Wisconsin Driver’s License, a reliable vehicle with state required minimum liability insurance and be able to meet the criteria to be placed on the Menominee Indian Tribe’s approved drivers list; three (3) years clear driving record.
Must successfully pass a background investigation and a reference check with previous employers.
Must be able to meet the physical aspects of the position, i.e. stand, carry lift heavy objects, etc.
Must have hands-on experience with Windows operation systems, personal computers and operating systems and possess a strong working knowledge of various software programs, i.e., Windows, and other Microsoft Office products.
Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work alone, unsupervised.
Must possess the ability to learn the use of new software quickly and successfully instruct others in its use
Must possess the ability to write instructions in a logical and easy to follow style.
Must have a demonstrated work history of successful outcomes.
