Key Director of Finance Responsibilities:
- Accounting: Develop and maintain accounting systems in compliance with GAAP.
- Reporting: Oversee financial reporting systems and provide monthly financial statements and forecasts.
- Training: Supervise and train accounting staff, ensuring proper development and performance.
- Receivables: Manage accounts receivable, including revenue from billable services, grants, and donations.
- Payables: Oversee accounts payable, prioritizing payments based on need and cash flow.
- Budgeting: Prepare and monitor organizational budgets, recommending adjustments as needed.
- Payroll: Manage payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Cash Flow: Estimate and manage cash flow, prioritizing payments and managing invoices.
- Bookkeeping: Maintain comprehensive financial records, including ledgers and financial statements.
- Communication: Facilitate clear communication between program directors, managers, and the Board on financial matters.
- Audit: Prepare documents and coordinate with external auditors for the annual financial audit.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, including contract monitoring and reporting.
- Proposals: Develop budgets for grant and contract proposals according to specified criteria.
- Insurance: Review and manage insurance policies for payment and coverage.
- HUD: Prepare reports for HUD-related entities and assist in the annual HUD audit.

Director of Finance Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and office administration, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in fund accounting and non-profit organizations preferred.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Possession of a valid Hawaii driver's license, vehicle insurance, and safety inspection.
- Clean driving record verified by a Traffic Abstract.
- Current TB Clearance or TB X-Ray.
