Full Job Description

Our clinic is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our care team. MWRS has 7 clinicians and 1 nurse practitioner on our team. MWRS has outpatient locations in Coeur d Alene, Sandpoint, and south Priest River. We are currently looking to hire a part-time medical assistant to support our nurse practitioner in our CDA office. The position will be a hybrid model with most days working via tele-health from home and 1-2 days in our CDA office. The expected schedule for this position is Tuesdays through Friday starting off.

MWRS is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant able to assist with the daily functions of our newly created psychiatric behavioral health management office. You will be assisting our Nurse Practitioner and Program Director through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, scheduling, taking patient vitals, lab requisitions, prescription pre-authorizations, filing electronic forms, managing the e-fax line, and coordinating internal and community referrals..

Responsibilities

• Assist with resolving medication prior authorizations from pharmacies & insurance companies

• Organize and schedule appointments / coordinate with the office admin

• Field calls from patients, i.e. prescription refills, clinical questions, referrals to outside services.

• Screen and set up new patients for visits

• Monitor new patients paperwork for intakes

• Update, file, and maintain electronic patient records

• Enter and submit medication orders electronically

• Coordination and submission of laboratory orders electronically

Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant. Specialized training in psychiatry can be provided.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

• Social perceptiveness and service oriented

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficient at data entry

• Experienced use of electronic medical records

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Degree in medical assistance preferred

CMA Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant work experience and certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (preferred).

• 1 years of experience preferred
