Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Cattle Worker. As a Cattle Worker, you will be responsible for the care and maintenance of our cattle. This is a hands-on role in animal care and handling. We run a bottle to feeder dairy bull calf operation. You spend much of your time with these calves feeding bottles and other tasks associated with the care of young calves.
Duties:
- Provide daily care for cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health
- Assist with breeding and calving operations
- Maintain clean and sanitary living conditions for the cattle
- Operate heavy equipment for feeding and cleaning tasks
- Perform basic maintenance on equipment and facilities
- Assist with pasture management, including mowing, fencing, and weed control
- Monitor cattle behavior and identify any signs of illness or distress
- Administer vaccinations and medications as directed
- Assist with cattle transportation as needed
Requirements:
- Basic math skills for measuring feed quantities and calculating medication dosages
- Previous experience working on a farm or with livestock preferred
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as tractors, loaders, and skid steers
- Knowledge of mechanical systems for equipment maintenance
- Strong animal care skills with the ability to handle large animals safely and effectively
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy objects
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Every weekend
- Nights as needed
- Weekends as needed
