What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Worker II position at MEPPI?
Position Summary
Perform receiving, warehousing and shipping functions supporting manufacturing operations and inventory management. Maintain and verify records on incoming shipments, outgoing shipments and other inventory transactions.
Essential Functions
- Perform all Inventory Worker I duties as needed.
- Retrieve and deliver material from inventory for production as specified in barcode reader, manual lists and in accordance with pick parts templates.
- Package, stage and label parts for delivery. Load packaged parts and assemblies onto trucks.
- Review Pick List and Sales Order/SRO for errors and work with appropriate departments to resolve errors.
- Ensure non-conforming material is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Utilize business system to create shipments, record transactions and locate materials.
- Coordinate the shipping of material with shipping companies. Act as point of contact for incoming shipments.
- Prepare weight and dimension information for outgoing shipments and enter into the business system.
- Resolve incoming shipment errors and deviations with supervisor and Purchasing department.
- Perform physical inventory counts, location audits, inventory cycle counting, and reconciliation of cycle counts.
- Adjust inventory records as needed.
- Assist supervisor with maintaining inventory levels. Place purchase requisitions and manage shelf life inventory.
- Generate and issue inventory reports.
- Support Logistics department with shipment of documents and small packages.
- Transport equipment, parts and materials between customer and company facilities as needed.
- Know MEPPIs Quality, Safety and Environmental policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
Qualifications
- High School or GED, plus three years of warehouse experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g., fork truck, crane).
- Intermediate knowledge of arithmetic and metric/standard measurements.
- Intermediate computer skills with emphasis on MS Office, ERP/MRP systems, and warehouse management systems.
