What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitter - 1st Shift position at MEPPI?
Position Summary
Perform routine manual and clerical duties in inventory areas including pulling parts against job pick lists to create production kits and recording quantity and location information.
Essential Functions
- Assure all materials are properly protected and organized in kits.
- Assure all parts are properly identified in kits.
- Report all pick list discrepancies for correction.
- Report all incorrectly stocked parts for correction.
- Report all incorrectly located parts for correction.
- Confirm all MEPPI parts are clean as kitted.
- Assure the integrity and cleanliness of bins and pallets used for the kitting and delivery of parts.
- Assure that area is cleaned after kitting is completed.
- Confirm ID tags are properly attached to parts.
- Uncrate materials using hand and power tools as required.
- Use the business system to locate parts as necessary.
- Retrieve material from inventory to fill pick lists.
- Package components for shipment and load material onto trucks for shipment.
- Disperse inventory items and expense items.
- Support and assist the Expeditors as needed.
- Support and assist the Material Center Supervisor as needed.
- Support and make recommendations to improve Company policies and procedures.
- Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Manufacturing Department.
- Know MEPPIs Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
Qualifications
- High School or GED, plus two years of work experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Applicable safety/operations training required to operate certain machinery and equipment (e.g. fork truck, crane).
- Basic computer/data entry experience.
