Responsible for creating new job opportunities within the community and maintaining contact with community employers. Requires knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and a recovery-driven service system.
The Vocational Specialist prepares individuals for real-world experiences, including employment and various community interactions. They share responsibility for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions, assisting in treatment, substance abuse services, education, support, and family consultation, all under the clinical supervision of professionally degreed staff.

The Vocational Specialist prepares individuals for real-world experiences, including employment and various community interactions. They share responsibility for carrying out rehabilitation and support functions, assisting in treatment, substance abuse services, education, support, and family consultation, all under the clinical supervision of professionally degreed staff.
- Conducting workshops to assist individuals in employment preparation, covering topics such as interview attire, interview skills, resume writing, job searching, ergonomics/safe-lifting techniques, workplace safety, energy conservation techniques, and educational opportunities.
- Participating in treatment planning meetings.
- Collaborating with ACT members and consumers' natural supports to identify goals that aid in the housing process.
- Assisting in ongoing assessments of individuals' mental illness and symptoms, as well as their responses to treatment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess The Following Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Preferred focus on rehabilitation counseling.
- 1-2 years of experience supporting individuals managing mental illness for candidates without the preferred bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling will be considered.
- Proficiency in recovery principles and working within a recovery-driven system.
- Valid Driver’s License. Travel is necessary to offer support across Washington and Greene County.
