In this role you will be reporting directly to the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to support and interface with corporate and business leaders to develop metrics and reports to measure and support the management of business performance, including creating reports and presentations that translate into meaningful information to facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making. The right person will have a high level of skill and experience with analytics, including data integration and proactive identification and resolution of data accuracy issues. Position Responsibilities: Build, maintain and calibrate regular business reporting to facilitate effective planning, analysis and decision making throughout the organization. Identify key financial drivers and assumptions within a business process, structure the identified drivers to tell a story, and develop a financial model to be used for planning purposes. Aggregate and organize data from multiple platforms and systems; suggest procedural changes to increase the accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency of data and reports used or produced by the team. Prepare PowerPoint presentations which summarize results of data analysis and model outputs, suitable for multiple audiences, including Kemper Senior Executives and the Board of Directors. Document work processes, including data sources and definitions; ensure data accuracy. Frequently interact and coordinate with other departments to address business issues and to meet organizational objectives. Interpret data and identify trends to help leadership understand drivers of results, make decisions, and develop strategy. Prepare and analyze portions of the monthly operating review package; summarize findings into actionable business insights. Develop new reports and analytics to drive key leadership insights into business performance. Proven track record of improving processes and creating efficiencies to help reduce manual data collection. Serve as a data expert, understanding data sources and systems to ensure data integrity and report accuracy. Provide project analysis and input on business cases provide additional support across the department. Work collaboratively with people in the organization to gather information, take ownership of deliverables, and meet deadlines. Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a quantitative discipline 5 years of related experience Demonstrated proficiency in a finance role with analysis experience or equivalent combination of experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills Insurance experience a plus but not required. Advanced Tableau and Excel skills Experience working in Data Warehouse Environment Intermediate skills in SQL, Power BI, Salesforce, Snowflake a plus Effective financial, strategic, and executive leadership. Appreciation for the rigorous, analytical requirements of a public company, and ability to build the requisite infrastructure to support those needs within the business. Strong financial analysis skills Highly motivated and natural self-starter, independent thinker, great planner, and team player Structured in thinking process and strong problem-solving skills, the ability to break down complex problems and find solutions. Ability to cope with uncertainty, learn fast, motivated by new and complex challenges. Manage information in a visually appealing and easy to understand method. Drive results across a team of dynamic communicators and professionals Ability to quickly absorb complex issues, ensure alignment across cross-functional teams. Possesses a continuous improvement mindset.
