What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Gear Up Program position at Mercer County Community College?
The Director of NJ GEAR UP reports to the Dean for JKC. He/she plans, develops and administers programs to provide educational opportunities for students. He/she cooperates with business, civic, and other organizations to develop curriculum to the meet the needs of the students and community. He/she oversees operation of NJ GEAR-UP and supervises all staff. The Director also works closely with appropriate College and target school staff and represents the College when interacting with external agencies and individuals in the performance of the duties, which are stated in this job description.
Required Qualifications
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree required
Experience:
o Knowledge of College Admissions Process, including Financial Aid
o Program Management
o Good Public Speaking
o Working with Urban Youth
o Familiar with Community Service Projects
Hour of Work:
o Position requires flexible hours and the availability to work evening hours and some weekends.
Driver’s License:
o Valid NJ or PA Driver’s License and a car required or reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
o Master’s Degree strongly preferred
