Job Description:
Looking for a quality candidate to work with the Logistics (Trucking) Department in day-to-day operations as the Company continues to grow. Candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with little supervision, meet deadlines, multi-task, while offering strong communication and computer skills. Prior trucking, warehouse, logistics, and cost control experience a plus, but not required. Maintains operations of the trucking fleet by monitoring performance and usage, adjusting to new requirements/regulations, updating brokers, and negotiating the booking of loads. Position acts as primary interface between office, drivers, and maintenance by performing the following functions.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains operator availability by monitoring performance and usage, locating and booking of loads, updating customers/brokers as needed.
- Ability to work closely and efficiently with fleet drivers. Communicates with drivers per Company policy including status checks and coordinates for any changes in routes, schedule, equipment, etc.
- Provides truck fleet information and reports by ollecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. Keeps truck information accessible by filing documents and data entry including but not limited to vehicle information such as odometer, hub, ECM readings, fuel usage, scale slips, expenses, etc.
- Improves truck fleet administration job knowledge by adjusting to new requirements/regulations, attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices.
- Contributes to truck fleet and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others in logistics accomplish job-related tasks of fleet management.
- General office duties including, but not limited to operating a multi-line phone system, scanning, data entry, recordkeeping, etc.
- Maintain quality results by following standards, procedures, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Outlook.
- Minimum associates degree or equivalent work experience.
