The head of broad-based compensation will have responsibility for providing strategic leadership for the global compensation practice and operational leadership for the U.S. compensation function. He/she will lead the design and development of the Company’s compensation architecture, programs, plans and policies, providing guidance and oversight to the international compensation community.  He/she will be responsible for engaging with senior business and HR leaders to understand business priorities and challenges that inform the compensation strategy, design and investments.

The successful candidate will operate as a compensation thought leader to understand and shape leading and emerging practices based on industry trends and external market practices.  He/she will directly monitor U.S. trends and regulatory developments to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations. This position will report to the head of Total Rewards, and will be responsible for the management, coaching, and development of a team of compensation professionals.

Responsibilities include:

  • As a member of the rewards leadership team, establish the total rewards philosophy and strategy;
  • Develop and prioritize the strategic objectives for the global compensation practice, aligned to the overall business strategy;
  • Play a lead role in the development and evolution of a global compensation community of practice;
  • Lead and manage the U.S. compensation function including consultative support to the business;
  • Monitor existing compensation program effectiveness, while focusing on continuous improvement;
  • Evaluate and evolve the global incentive structure to ensure the competitiveness of programs;
  • Oversee annual U.S. compensation survey submission and market pricing activities;
  • Partner with the HR Operations team on the annual compensation planning process, including preparation of U.S. salary budget recommendation and coordination with the international community to establish individual country salary budgets;
  • Remain knowledgeable of U.S. federal, state, and local laws to ensure that the compensation programs are compliant with external regulations;
  • Partner with the rewards leadership team on M&A activity, due diligence and integration.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • MBA or other graduate degree is strongly preferred.

Required:

  • 14+ years of progressive work experience with at least 10 years in a compensation and/or benefits related role;
  • Ability to influence, deliver results and collaborate across functions and teams to ensure strategic alignment, organizational buy-in and operational effectiveness;
  • Strong business and financial acumen and confident presence with senior management;
  • Strategic, innovative and forward-looking thinker;
  • Excellent communication, data and analytical skills;
  • Proven experience leading and managing a high-performing team
