You will lead Container activities at the product management level. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to define and execute on container segment of our compute product offering from central IT in a highly collaborative manner that pulls from industry and open-source best practices and trends to meet our business needs.
You will be responsible for providing vision for container use, driving strategy around container computing and successfully executing across numerous infrastructure and cloud teams, to enable innovation, efficiency and productivity with containers across our IT community.
You will partner with other leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions, roadmaps and resource requirements, set and refine the mission, and bring together a team of product line and community members to execute on specific product features.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strategic vision for our container computing and collaborate with core infrastructure and developer productivity teams to offer a coherent roadmap for customers.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships across Core Infrastructure partners and customers throughout IT
- Work across product engineering teams to build, design, implement, and maintain container compute products
- Drive decisions around prioritization, solutions, and functionality, Effectively prioritize and manage our engineering roadmaps in alignment with our product roadmap
- Oversee the delivery and engineering of Container Products, ensuring that designs are scalable, resilient, extensible and secure.
- Seek out emerging and established compute and open-source trends, and makes proposals on changes, enhancements, and replacements of our existing products through detailed analysis, proof of concepts and product comparisons.
- Influence and establish product management best practices through design decisions, processes, and tools.
- Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to Compute staff in the delivery of the product roadmap for container solutions, ensuring fit-for-purpose, best-in-class, and currency.
- Empower, challenge, and coach a team of senior engineers to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, other relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of Compute/Hosting infrastructure Engineering and Delivery experience.
- 2 years' experience in working in Agile ways of working.
Preferred qualifications:
- Advanced degree in engineering.
- Experience with Kubernetes, CNCF container and open-source technologies.
- Understanding of networking, networking security, private and public cloud design considerations, and limitations in the areas of virtualization and container technology, global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing, networking, massive data storage, and security.
- Broad understanding of application hosting services including but not limited to Compute, Storage/Backup, Database, Networking.
- Ability to collaborate, thinking innovative, and solve ambiguous problems.
- Excellent organization, prioritization, and written/verbal communication.
- Prior experience in successfully delivering enterprise programs across functional IT Teams.
- A self-motivated exceptional people leader with experience building and leading high-performing teams, ideally with remote or hybrid teams
- Proactively give and receive feedback with a growth mindset
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at active listening
- Focus on delighting customers with amazing user experiences and customer service
- Experience working with and operating production compute infrastructure systems at large scale

$130,960.00 - $206,200.00
