We currently have an exciting opportunity within the Analytical Chemistry in Development and Supply (ACDS) organization. This organization provides innovative analytical solutions for the global of our Company Manufacturing Network for Commercialization and in-line Commercial Supply support for all small molecules. In particular, we're looking for a motivated leader who is interested in managing a high-performance group responsible for our analytical commercialization and supply support for small molecule drug substances.
Position Responsibilities:
- This group is responsible for applying innovative analytical characterization technologies to enhance our scientific problem-solving capabilities and collaborating with partners across our Research & Development Division and our Manufacturing Division network to enable flawless commercialization of our new products and uninterrupted supply of our products to patients.
- The successful candidate will serve as a people manager for a group of approximately 25 highly skilled scientists who are responsible for commercializing new commercial drug substances and ensuring uninterrupted supply of current commercial drug substances by engaging with laboratories across the internal and external our Manufacturing Division network to develop and implement robust analytical methodology, troubleshoot analytical investigations, and support technology transfer across the broad our Manufacturing Division network.
- Specific responsibilities include fostering strong alliances with external Analytical Laboratories supporting drug substance analytical development and testing, overseeing a portfolio of projects within the group, providing strategic scientific and regulatory oversight as well as managing resources for executing on scientific objectives and collaborating effectively with partners/customers.
- The Director should be passionate about establishing meaningful employee development of their direct reports and the department as a whole.
- The candidate would be expected to participate in the definition of opportunities that enhance and leverage the skillsets of their team.
- The Director is also responsible for sponsoring and instilling high performance behaviors within individuals and the organization.
- As a member of the ACDS Leadership Team, the Director initiates and leads strategic initiatives related to technical strategies, compliance, and/or business improvements.
- An ability to identify and champion continuous improvement for the existing workflows within the group would be expected.
- Further, as a member of the ACDS LT, the incumbent would be expected to lead/participate in activities such as recruiting and performance management, as well as collaborate with the Leadership Team to set and drive organizational goals and objectives consistent with overall our Manufacturing Division strategies.
- Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and the necessary educational background in chemistry and/or pharmaceutical sciences.
- Direct experience with drug substance analytical development, as well as working with external partners is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and a motivation to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions are essential.
Education Minimum Requirement:
- Bachelors, Masters, or PhD. in chemistry or pharmaceutical science
Required Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 10 years in the pharmaceutical industry
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- Excellent scientific abilities, strong communication skills, and prior people management experience.

Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.
Expected salary range:
$159,200.00 - $250,700.00
