What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Sourcer position at Mercury?
Mercury is building financial products to help startups and small businesses scale. Turns out this requires a lot of talented people, so we’re looking to add a Business Sourcer to our team.
As a sourcing partner to our business recruiting team, you’ll take ownership of the candidate pipeline for a big part of the company and have a lot of impact.
Here are some things you’ll do on the job:
- Develop a deep understanding of Mercury’s values, brand, and product.
- Work closely with hiring managers and interviewers across the business to help build high-performing, diverse teams.
- Make a friendly first impression on candidates and (no pressure) act as the living embodiment of our cultural values.
- Manage the top funnel of the recruiting pipeline from initial outreach to their first interviews, with an emphasis on engaging passive candidates.
- Screen candidates with a keen eye for alignment with our open roles and Mercury values.
- Champion diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Experiment with creative ways of sourcing and analyze their effectiveness.
- Actively think of ways to improve and scale sourcing processes.
- Stay informed about industry trends, and act as a subject matter expert for the wider team.
You should:
- Have a bachelor’s degree or something you feel is equivalent.
- Have 1-2 years of recruiting, sourcing, or recruiting coordination experience (provided you’re excited to learn and grow as a sourcer).
- See yourself as an expert sourcer and enjoy seeking out passive talent.
- Have an almost psychic level of empathy and intuition.
- Communicate with clarity, thought, and precision.
- Enjoy building diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams.
- Think about how to automate as much of your job as possible.
- Keep track of what you’re working on even when you’re working on a hundred different things.
- Use creativity while working within difficult constraints.
