Physical Therapist Assists the licensed Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy staff by performing delegated treatments with patients.
Serves as call back person when the department is closed. Assists in maintaining the department and equipment through cleaning, checking level of supplies, and checking for maintenance needs.
- Calling patients back from the waiting area to the treatment area
- Assisting patients through exercises / activities prescribed by the PT or OT.
- Assisting in setting up modality treatments : moist heat, ice, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and paraffin.
- Changing linens on treatment table
- Cleaning equipment between uses
- Recording daily temperatures of paraffin and moist heat units
- Assisting in stocking equipment and ordering supplies
- Assisting with light office tasks as needed
Required : High School Diploma
High School Diploma
Possess the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide PT technician care to people with physical disability and chronic illness.
Maintains competency as demonstrated by yearly competency evaluation.
