Overview:

Responsible for the development, implementation and carry through of age appropriate curriculum utilizing Project Construct Indicators, Developmentally Appropriate Practice and Accreditation Standards. Demonstrates the ability to understand each child's individual needs as well as the group. Assists each child in becoming an integral member of the group. Provides opportunities for children to construct their own knowledge through exploration and play experiences. Provides a smooth coordination of staff/child interaction and activities appropriately. Adaptations are provided when necessary to meet the individual learning style of each child. Relates to all children in a positive and respectful manner. Responsible for the supervision and management of assigned classroom while providing a safe and nurturing environment. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Mercy Service Standards.
****This role is physically demanding and requires repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting children, reaching over head, combination of standing and sitting through the duration of the day.****
Teacher I
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certifications: Must be registered with the State of MO Family Care Safety Registry within 15 days of hire.
- Preferred Experience: 1 year child care experience preferred. Experience working with children in an early childhood setting preferred.
Teacher II
- Education: CDA, 9 college credit hours, Associates Degree, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related education field.
- Licensure: Shall obtain at least (12) clock hours of approved child-care related training during each year of employment.
- Experience: None.
- Certifications: None.
- Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Be able to communicate well, work with other people, and know what is developmentally appropriate.Equipment Used: Television, VCR, Filmstrip Projector.
- Preferred Experience: Prefer two years of experience with a degree.
Teacher III
- Education: BS degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study. Or a combination of Early Childhood college courses and relevant work experience.
- Experience: 1 year relevant childcare experience.
- Certifications: Must be registered with the State of MO Family Care Safety Registry within 15 days of hire.
