Monday-Friday
8:00am - 4:30pm
Overview:
Assists patients as needed to patient care rooms. Obtains Vital signs. Obtains EKG's, blood and urine samples. Adheres to patient identification, Lab safety, and other Medical Center and department policies and procedures.Stocks supplies and maintains unit supply inventories as directed by the supervisor. Maintains overall appearance and organization of the clinic area. Assists as needed with the transportation of patients. Performs non-clinical support tasks essential to the daily operation of the PACE Clinic.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum one year patient care experience including transferring/transporting, obtaining vital signs, phlebotomy experience and EKG experience.
- Other: Working knowledge of medical terminology, typing and basic computer skills. Must have excellent communication skills and customer relations expertise. Must be able to multi-task and anticipate the needs of the unit. Must provide support to the nurses and to the PSA or secretary.
- Preferred Education: Some completed college coursework preferred.
- Preferred Experience: 1-3 years experience in laboratory specimen management and processing preferred. 3 years experience as a Laboratory Assistant I preferred.
- Preferred Other: Experience with Cerner Millennium Pathnet preferred
