What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager - Labor Strategy position at Mercy?
This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining all patient care team scheduling for Mercy Virtual. Key responsibilities include the continuous improvement of Mercy Virtual scheduling and staffing workflows, communication and training of best practices, identification of opportunities to enhance patient outcomes, co-worker efficiencies and effectiveness through the implementation and maintenance of the Virtual scheduling software. The position will be responsible for developing and training a Mercy Virtual Labor Strategy team as Mercy Virtual grows. He/she will work closely with enterprise Subject Matter Experts to optimize staffing outcomes and use of the scheduling software. Monitors for adherence to best practice behaviors and plays an active role in coaching and mentoring managers and leaders as they manage for daily improvement in staffing needs. Assists local operational leaders in the development of effective resource strategies as they strive to improve physician and co-worker satisfaction and retention, while providing exceptional patient care.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of finance/accounting experience in healthcare industry required. Must have 3 years of business experience with 2 years of managing teams and recruiting quality and high performing talent.
- Knowledge of process design, project management, and performance management tools. Proven successful Lean and/or Six Sigma experience.
- Experience presenting to a variety of levels including senior leadership required.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the co-worker is regularly required to stand; walk, sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The co-worker is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The co-worker must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
