Overview:
Responsible for performing all duties necessary to provide for the effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs. Responsible for identifying potential and existing drug-related problems and taking appropriate actions to prevent or resolve them. Responsible for meeting all objectives for a resident in pharmacy practice as outlined by ASHP. Maintain/enhance pharmacotherapeutic skills through the reading of primary literature, national guidelines and/or medical references. Performs related duties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Licensure: Will have Pharmacy licensure in the state of practice within 60 days of hire.
- Other skills & knowledge: Must be attentive to detail and accurate in work. Must be able to communicate in an effective and appropriate manner with others. Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required. A caring, friendly and professional approach is expected in all communication with patients, families, visitors and other employees. Flexibility to adjust to changing conditions and details of the job is necessary. Must complete departmental orientation requirements and any age specific competencies within the first 3 months of employment. Performs duties pertaining to the handling and disposition of site-generated hazardous waste as part of daily job activities.
