Overview:
CEU is a 9 bed unit that has a high turn over in patients due to majority of them are observation patients. The patients typically stay 23 hours or less. Patients that are in this unit include: pre/post heart cath patients, post coronary stent placement, post pacemaker/defib, chest pain observation patients from emergency. We currently accommodate outpatient dialysis patients. Our nursing ratio is 4:1 or 5:1. We currently have one tech during the day to assist with the busy times. Most of our patients are typically more critical requiring lower ratios to accommodate the severity. All patients are on continuous telemetry monitoring.
Qualifications:
Licensure: Current AR Registered Nurse license or compact state license if living outside of Arkansas.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
Certifications: Current Basic Life Support or acquire within 60 days of hire. ACLS, or acquire within one year of hire. PALS preferred.
Preferred Experience: Two years current inpatient, acute care hospital experience.
