Overview:

For more than 140 years, we've carried out Christ's healing ministry as St. Anthony's Medical Center, delivering compassionate care to area residents. Today, as Mercy Hospital South, we continue that legacy. Mercy Hospital South is the third-largest medical center in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Our team offers advanced medical treatment in several specialties, including acute rehabilitation, cardiology, maternity services, oncology/cancer care, orthopedics, neurology/stroke, surgery and emergency medicine.

CVICU Unit Overview:

• Medications - titration of vasopressors and sedatives, experience with paralytics, insulin, heparin, cardiac meds
• Chest tubes - assist with insertion, management
• Central Lines - assist with insertion, management, removal
• Arterial Lines - assist with insertion, management, removal
• Organ system failure (respiratory, cardiac, renal, liver, etc.)
• Post Arrest/Targeted Temperature Management
• Life threatening arrhythmias
• Sepsis/DKA/GI Bleed/COVID/Pneumonia
• Overdose/Mental Health/Self-Harm
• Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT)
• Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump/Impella/Pacing (external, transvenous)
• Epicardial pacing
• Post-op recovery of open heart directly from OR
• Familiar with trans-catheter valve replacements (TAVR, Mitral Clips, Mitral Valve replacements, etc.), aorta repairs, coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG)
• 2:1 Patient/Nurse Ratio
• Every third weekend

We Offer Great Incentives:

• Shift Differential Pay
• $Up to a $20,000 sign on bonus offered
• BSN Differential for those applicants who have completed a BSN program.
• RN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).
• $20,000 RN Loan Forgiveness Program to aid in paying off your RN student loan debt
• Up to $370 per month directly towards loan payments ($20,000 cap)
• Must start with Mercy within12-months of graduation.
• Benefit eligible on Day One

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited RN program.
• Preferred Education: BSN
• Experience:
  • 2 years ICU preferred
  • Experience with Epic EHR preferred
  • Experience with CRRT, Impella, Balloon Pumps, pacing prefered
• License: current RN license in the state of MO.
• Certifications: ACLS with Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
