Overview:
The Senior Financial Analyst I position reports to the Construction Business Manager and is responsible for the financial management of capital construction projects, including contracts, expenditures, compliance with internal controls, maintaining project financial records and reconciliation of multiple internal systems for a community within Mercy. This position works extensively with Mercys Planning Design and Construction department, the Center of Excellence Fixed asset team and the community financial reporting department.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS Degree in Finance or Accounting (or similar) or equivalent experience
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years.
- Other Skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge with financial applications and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team on both a local and system level.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with leadership teams.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial systems.
- Knowledgeable of underlying process flows;
- Demonstrates developed analytical skills including identification of issues/opportunities and potential resolution.
- Works independently;
- Demonstrates appropriate prioritization, efficiency, and problem solving.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and position specific applications
Job Responsibilities:
Provides project financial support to local Planning, Design & Construction team by:
- Requesting project funding and setting up projects in project tracking software
- Assisting with issuing, processing and tracking contracts
- Processing invoices and tracking expenditures against commitments
- Entering all project transactional data into project tracking software
- Assisting with budget maintenance
- Reconciling projects monthly using multiple internal software systems
- Issuing monthly financial reports to local teams and leadership
- Maintaining project financial files
- Reconciling commitments and closing out projects
- Preparing and submitting project depreciation schedules to Fixed Assets team
Enforces compliance with internal process controls
Assists in regular cashflow reporting of large capital construction projects
Acts as liaison with local Finance department and local leadership
Acts as liaison with internal and third-party auditors
Completes fiscal year-end duties
Completes special projects as directed by Construction Business Manager
