Overview
Cares for patients in the Emergency Department under direction of nursing staff, by performing the following duties, and supporting the nursing philosophy. May include weekends, holidays, day, evening, night, and/or on-call hours. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
As outlined for ED Tech 1•Certified as a Nursing Assistant in applicable state with 2 years healthcare experience or•Medical Assistant with 2 years of healthcare experience or•Licensed as an EMT in applicable state with 2 years of healthcare experience or•Licensed as a Paramedic in applicable state with 1 year of healthcare experiencePlus 6 months experience as ED Tech 1for Mercy Health System or 6 months similar experience in another emergency department
Certification and Licensure
As outlined for ED Tech 1•Certified as a Nursing Assistant in applicable state or •Certified as a Medical Assistant in applicable state or •Licensed as an EMT in applicable state or •Licensed as a Paramedic in applicable state Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days (Other certifications per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, NALS)
