Serves as a Medical Interpreter while providing language assistance services for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) individual in order to facilitate accurate, effective and efficient communication during the assessment and delivery of healthcare services. The Medical Interpreter will also serve the organization by promoting awareness about the language and cultural needs of the LEP individual. Works flexible hours to meet system needs. Performs other duties as assigned.
Medical interpreter certification within 6 months of hire by an organization Mercyhealth uses for medical interpreter certification assessmentsOrCertification in one of the following:National Board of Certified Medical Interpreters –NBCMICertification for Health Care Interpreters -CCHI National Certification for Health Care Interpreters- CIHC
