Essential duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrates attributes of a professional educator: Self-motivation, effective communication, effective time management, team focused, organization, knowledgeable, prepared, confident, respectful, student advocate.
- Demonstrates the ability to provide quality instruction in all learning domains: Cognitive, Psychomotor and Affective.
- Applies the principles of Adult Learning in the classroom.
- Demonstrates the ability to set clear and obtainable goals and objective for course participants and then monitor and evaluate student progress according to state, overseeing agency and/or department criteria
- Engages the learner and provides well timed and effective feedback
- Develop training curriculum and material for EMS training programs
- Teach at varied time and places using varied formats based on student demand: Day or evening, main campus, mobile Sim lab or on site of students’ employment.
- Demonstrates exceptional customer service and interacts effectively with students, customers and Mercy Partners of all disciplines.
Education and Experience
Have attained an Associate’s Degree or at least 60 Associate’s Degree level or higher college credits;
Minimum 3 years of full-time or at least 6,000 hours, occupational experience as a certified law enforcement officer in the state of Wisconsin or another state
Minimum 6-12 months of Adult education experience in curriculum development, facilitation & evaluation.
Certifications/Licensure
Current State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Certified Law Enforcement Officer or 15 years of experience as a State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Certified Law Enforcement officer
Certified State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois General Law Enforcement Instructor preferred Certified State of Wisconsin or State of Illinois Topic Specific Instructor preferred:
Maintain a valid driver’s license.
Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercy’s HR-01-Fleet Safety policy.
