Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound exams, procedures and reports on scheduled shifts including on-call shifts for physician reporting/review.
- Provides care to obstetrical and occasional gynecological patients.
- Works within a sterile field as needed.
- Provides patient/family or caregiver education and bereavement counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
- Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams and procedures. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner. Orders supplies and restocks rooms.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited two year Ultrasonography program.
- Within six months of hire obtains and maintains active registry status in ARDMS, minimum registration in OB/GYN.
- Participates in professional society.
- BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
