LPN-Under direct supervision, assists in carrying out the phases of the nursing process as appropriately delegated by the Registered Nurse/Provider. Provides nursing care to assigned patients by utilizing the nursing process and meeting the established standards within the clinic. Is accountable for assigned patients, demonstrates understanding of nursing and its issues and is an advocate for patient/families and nursing.

What You Will Do:

- Utilizing the nursing process assists the registered nurse/provider in providing patient care.
- Demonstrates ability to identify physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the registered nurse/provider.
- Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and necessary services.
- Identifies actual and potential risk to patients and/or families and initiates appropriate action to minimize risk.
- Administers medications and treatments/procedures as directed, and as appropriate for the patient’s medical care, in collaboration with the multi disciplinary team.
- Utilizes internal and community resources in planning care and initiating referrals.
- Initiates appropriate patient/family education following assessment of learning and discharge needs.
- Documents nursing intervention and patient/family response accurately, legibly, and in compliance with clinic policies.
- Obtains vital signs, blood pressures, heights and weights, and records information appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates the ability to identify physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the provider/RN.
- Administers medications, vaccines and treatments/procedures as directed by the provider, and as appropriate for the patients’ medical care.
- Demonstrates competency in performing phlebotomy, use of appropriate tubes for blood specimen collection, labeling, accurate identification, etc.
- Demonstrates competency in performing point of care testing and documentation of results accurately. Processes simple laboratory specimens. Maintains CLIA/COLA evaluation and documentation of competency (as necessary)
- Assists with patient treatments as delegated, i.e., specimen collection, simple dressing changes.
- Performs screen and follow up of patient test results.
- Assists with patient exam as directed by the provider/physician.
- Obtains EKG tracing as directed and ordered by provider/physician.
- Identifies and communicates significant changes in patient’s status (potential or actual adverse patient occurrences) to the provider/physician.
LPN
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse maintaining current state licensure.
- A minimum of one to two years nursing experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BCLS) is required unless doctor’s release is provided.Medical Assistant
- Must have successfully completed/graduated from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assisting training program.
- Requires a current certification/registration (CMA/RMA) by an NCCA certified.
- Maintains certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
