programs on campus as needed.

Description: Performs a variety of office support and/or administrative duties for the office. Serves as
departmental assistant to the Department of Human Environmental Sciences (HES) and other
programs on campus as needed.
Duties:
- Provide administrative support to department head/ HES faculty and other programs as
- needed
- Support office management including greeting students & visitors/answering the phone, website
- updates interdepartmental communication, filing, mail distribution for department, running errands, updating bulletin boards, maintaining and monitoring budget, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, creating program announcements, supporting departmental/program events, security of files and departmental records.
- Monitor the safety and condition of department/program facilities and report work orders as needed.
- Ensure classrooms and outside venues are set up appropriately for course/program activities.
- Coordinate the scheduling of internal and external events as well as academic classes for
- departmental facilities and calendars.
- Coordinate and manage arrangements for meetings, conferences, travel and special events for
- the HES department and other assigned programs.
- Oversee updates and revisions to department web presence.
- Serve as contact for and provide information to current and prospective students, as well as community members interested in programs you serve.
- Recruit/hire/supervise student workers.
- Provide back-up support for School of Education, Health and Human Sciences team of assistants.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications: Skills Needed:
- Excellent communication skills, organizational ability, time management, initiative, maturity, professionalism and customer-service attitude.
- Strong computer skills including extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite.
- Experience with or ability to learn web software associated with budget processes.
- Experience in an academic setting is preferred. Some experience in a sport or recreational setting
- helpful.
Key interfaces: -Interacts regularly with students, faculty and other administrative staff in the College.
Education & Experience: High school diploma required/college experience helpful

- General office setting with the moderate noise level.
- May occasionally have to lift objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
