Job Title Associate Director, Benefits Job Description I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives. The Associate Director, Benefits leads the administration of domestic and international employee benefit plan operations, serving as the primary process architect to streamline and optimize the benefit programs, systems, workflow and communications. The position works closely with IAC’s vendors, employees, retirees and key stakeholders within the organization to answer questions and resolve benefit-related issues. The Associate Director, Benefits prepares benefit documents and communications related to compliance, summary plan descriptions, materials for job candidates and new employees and Open Enrollment. The position provides guidance on existing benefit plans and industry best practices to ensure the Company’s program remains compliant with regulations and competitive based on market trends. II. Essential Job Functions / Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 25% - Establishes and maintains a working relationship with IAC’s benefits broker and plan providers. Develops and maintains knowledge and expertise on legislative changes and recommends appropriate actions to ensure benefit plan compliance. Leads and/or participates in special projects and project management in related areas. 25% - Participates in the development and implementation of best-in-class, cost effective and time efficient benefits process solutions and manages system issues. Reviews current benefit processes and recommends strategic opportunities within the workflow. Offers strategic, value-added and integrated solutions for the business. 25% - Maintains data integrity for all employee benefit department functions. Assures benefits, leave, retirement and pension related plans are legally compliant and establishes or revises policies as needed. Works closely with the Payroll and HRIS team to ensure effective communication and accurate data. Reconciles bills for health and welfare programs. Ad-hoc reporting and analysis within the Workday system reporting function. 15% - Calculates pension estimates, as needed, for active and terminating employees. Coordinates with team members to research and resolve issues related to data required for the annual pension valuation. Manages death benefits for active and retired employees. Participates in benefits surveys and benchmarking. 10% - Creates and/or updates benefit communications including compliance documents, summary plan descriptions, handbooks, Open Enrollment and online materials. Remains current on industry trends and government mandates. III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. Experience: Five or more years experience with heath, welfare and retirement plans. Experience working with data processing in development of systems for benefit administration preferred. CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or other related industry certification preferred. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong financial background and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Good presentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. % Travel Required (Approximate): Some infrequent travel required.
