Job Description
What you’ll be doing
As Retail Pricing Manager you will take the lead in developing a retail pricing strategy that meets the future needs of our customers as well as maximising margins to Meridian in a way that aligns to Meridians purpose. You will work with other NZ Retail business units to create innovative pricing propositions to enable successful execution of the retail strategy. You will do this whilst leading and developing a highly engaged and capable team.
You’ll effectively manage a team of analysts and support staff, providing coaching and mentoring to the team and identifying learning and development needs.
As part of your role, you will also determine price change strategy for all mass market customers and ensure pricing in market across all segments is both competitive and profitable. You’ll identify opportunities to support and maximise growth and support product development across both energy solutions and other mass market propositions. As well as ensuring all operational pricing outcomes are met.
Please note - This role can be based in either Christchurch or Wellington.
What you’ll bring
- Finance degree or similar
- 5 years’ experience in Retail or Wholesale electricity roles with strong knowledge of the Retail energy market
- Achievement orientated, with a flexible and adaptable style, capable of modelling exceptional work behaviour
- Strong leadership abilities
- Decisive with the ability to clearly communicate expectations, respond to challenges and follow through on decisions
- Strong analytical capability
- Results-driven focused on achieving financial goals
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
