Position
We are seeking a Senior R&D Chemist to join our fast-growing Electronics division, Epoxy Technology, Inc., based in Billerica, Massachusetts.
Job Summary
The Senior Chemist is responsible for the development and management of formulation projects from conception to completion to assist in bringing customers innovative solutions and speed to market support for the Electronics market with an in-depth understanding of Epoxy, UV Cure, Hybrid Cure Systems, Urethane and/or Silicones.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide the sales team with technical guidance and support.
- An established knowledge of the target market, customer base and supplier community
- Strong desire to learn and to educate others.
- Knowledge of sales and marketing operations
- Oversee each project’s life cycle from conception to completion, with an emphasis on technical soundness and resource efficiency.
- Develop and revise statements of work, which should include accurate time and cost estimates.
- Consult with customers to refine and evaluate requirements, strategy, and content needs.
- Oversee the efficient and timely sample fulfillment process.
- Ensure the lab operates in a cost conscious and efficient manner.
- Provide effective communication, cooperation and coordination between the lab and all other departments.
- Use academic and past work experience to make suggestions for formula improvement.
- A strong understanding of chemistry in the context of competing products is essential.
- Maintain attention to detail, excellent data management skills, manage multiple projects.
- Understand applicable regulations and test methods related to activities in the lab.
- Understand and adhere to R&D applicable procedures and policies.
- Occasional travel is required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required, chemistry or chemical engineering preferred.
- Experience formulating and reverse engineering epoxy products.
- Thorough understanding of typical formulation, testing and product approval process
- 5 years experience in a R&D, formulating or technical development
- Strong working knowledge of technology platforms including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Additionally, prolonged periods of standing and working at a lab bench.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
