What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracts Paralegal position at Meritage Homes?
Responsibilities
The Contracts Paralegal will be responsible for contract management including developing, assessing, analyzing and executing contracts, agreements or other binding documents. May include risk management and ongoing compliance with terms and conditions through execution.
- Review, analyze and monitor a high volume of construction, land, and various other vendor and consultant agreements to ensure compliance with company and contracting policies and procedures.
- Prepare and process company approved form contract documents, including editing, proofreading, and finalizing documents.
- Extensive interaction with regional, divisional, and departmental personnel with respect to contracting and vendor issues.
- Serve as point of contact for other Meritage employees, as well as vendors, vendor's legal representatives, insurance agents and others.
- Interface with purchasing personnel to train and answer questions regarding new and existing vendor agreements and contracting policies and procedures.
- Maintain and organize database of vendor contracts and forms and ensure proper cataloguing and retention of contract documents.
- Additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of contracts paralegal experience required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Attention to detail, demonstrated accuracy and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Strong written and verbal communicator with quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Self-driven and a team player
