The Opportunity
Seeking an experienced Assistant Controller with a proven track record of success. The Assistant Corporate Controller will be responsible for accurate accounting, consolidating, analyzing, and reporting financial data. This role supports the overall corporate reporting and handles month-end financial closing responsibilities, as well as interaction with management while ensuring the highest level of internal and external customer service. Candidates with accounting experience in a construction, engineering or HVAC environment are desired, but not required.

- Lead and mentor General Ledger team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Manage key areas of accounting including equity, intercompany, fixed assets, intangibles, and cash.
- Assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process.
- Oversee month-end journals and associated account reconciliations for corporate departments and other business units.
- Prepare consolidated financial reporting and other internal financial reports and key measures.
- Prepare financial statements and compliance reporting for external users of financial statements.
- Support ownership transactions including sales, purchases and distributions.
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements for accuracy and to provide insights for key leaders.
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and timely follow-up.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors during financial audits.
- Support acquisitions activities and integration of new business units.
- Lead and support process improvement projects.
- Other projects as defined.
Qualifications
The Required Profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 7 years accounting professional experience.
- HVAC, Mechanical Contracting, Engineering or Construction industry experience a plus.
- CPA license highly preferred.
- A desire and ability to support multiple locations.
- High level of initiative with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, deal with ambiguity and manage projects.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive information with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written, as well as the ability to facilitate both small and large groups in a variety of forms including presentations, working meetings, business reviews and informal discussions.
- Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn accounting system applications.

Environmental Requirements
Will be required to work in an office environment and possibly, occasionally in the field.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate a computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
