Overview
Product managers are responsible for the development and execution of product line strategies that bring value to the marketplace. They function as experts in their product lines for the organization. Product managers are responsible for product portfolio management, pricing strategy, marketing activities and project management. They are accountable for growing their product line offering, and achieving sales, margin and market share goals.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute product line strategies that will drive the sales and marketing effort for assigned product lines and update annually or as needed
• Use tools to launch, track and plan; develop product road maps and operating plans
• Execute product line initiatives to achieve objectives on-time and within budget to achieve desired results
• Measure effectiveness of initiatives to provide on-going research and analysis
• Develop and demonstrate proficiency in systems available to measure results
• Ability to proactively address changing conditions; report findings to other CVA departments
• Planning to include plan product line activities and manage to the marketing calendar
• Participate in AOP and BSR processes as required
• Develop and implement annual pricing strategies for each product line to meet pricing targets while insuring market competitiveness
• Participate as needed in initiatives to effectively manage CVA’s multiple brands
• Provide regular analysis of each product lines’ performance and use tracking templates to monitor promotions and provide feedback to sales group
• Measure effectiveness of product line strategies to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
• Development of product line training programs, maintain product line catalog information and cross references
• Maintain customer contact to facilitate flow of market intelligence
• Maintain product content updated on website
• Provide primary pricing strategy / market analysis to ensure competitive position and accuracy
• Cross functional communication of product and marketing initiatives
• Follow and lead team of functional representatives through projects
• Utilize industry contacts to assist with the elimination of excess and surplus inventories
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required; advanced degree preferred
• 6 or more years of experience required with extensive responsibilities for marketing / program / project management and a demonstrated track record of success
• Strongly prefer experience in the markets, products, and customers of the Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket Division
• Proven business skills and interpersonal communication / influencing skills required
• Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
• PC proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Power Point and Excel
• Ability to travel 20-25%
