Merkle is seeking a Lead React Native Mobile Developer to develop and maintain high-quality cross-platform mobile applications for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide solutions in React Native technologies to implement product features.
- Lead delivery of product features for React Native platforms.
- Provide support for project scoping, defined deliverable approach, and project timelines.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to assist in translating requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and deliver features that follow designed technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership to the team in solving technical challenges.
- Work with QA to ensure the committed feature deliveries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges.
- Optimize and monitor the mobile app performance, usability, security, and accessibility.
- Mentor team members including senior and junior developers.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or another relevant field.
- 5 years of professional React Native (or comparable mobile app development) experience.
- Expertise in React Native and experience in native platform development.
- Proficiency in writing code that can be shared across multiple platforms efficiently, while also understanding the trade-offs between cross-platform and native development.
- Strong expertise in optimizing mobile application performance, including reducing rendering and loading times, minimizing memory and battery consumption, and optimizing network requests. Familiarity with tools and techniques to measure and enhance mobile app performance.
- Proficiency in mobile app testing techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and UI testing across various mobile devices and operating system versions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, designers, backend developers, and QA engineers.
- Knowledge of mobile-specific security considerations, including secure data storage, encryption techniques, secure network communication, and authentication mechanisms.
- A passion for staying updated with the latest mobile technologies, frameworks, development practices, and design trends.
- Expertise in TypeScript and strong knowledge of JavaScript.
- History of delivering large cross-platform projects using React Native.
- Strong understanding of software design including design patterns and principles.
- Experience with mobile dev ops including build and deployment through CI/CD, code signing processes, and app store submissions.
- Proficiency integrating with web services, APIs, and 3rd party libraries.
- Expert in Git and working within a Git Flow environment.
Desired Experience/Skills
- Experience in developing and delivering native mobile projects on iOS and Android.
- Strong foundational knowledge and understanding of mobile architectural for native iOS and Android mobile apps.
Additional Information
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $94,000k- $152,375k. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation. The company's incentive compensation plan is subject to change.
