Scope of Job:
Works under the direction of the Events team to deliver memorable experiences to park guests during Special Events. Tasks vary and could include lifting, stocking, organizing, tidying, registering guests, stage management, decorating, usher duties and overseeing play areas. Maintains LEGOLAND California’s highest standards of safety, guest service and cleanliness.
Key Objective:
Support Event team an all needed event elements, including load in, load out, and event operations.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Has working Special Event knowledge and general park knowledge to assist with any guest problems.
2. Works well under pressure and communicates verbally to groups of guests.
3. Lifts and moves moderate weight loads, tents, tables, chairs, boxes and supplies.
4. Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site.
5. Follows established LEGOLAND California MC policies at all times.
6. Interacts with guests and provides excellent customer service.
Background and Experience:
Events experience is preferred. Customer service experience is preferred but not required. Position requires the ability to effectively follow directions and remember details. Position requires the ability to maintain a friendly, polite, service-oriented demeanor. Basic reading and writing skills.
Education:
Some High School required.
Other requirements:
Various inside and outside locations with varying temperatures and floor surfaces.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays to support park operations & Special Events.
** This is a variable position with fluctuating hours dependent on event operation needs. Variable positions are required to work a minimum of 8 hours every 3 months to maintain their status. The events team will communicate with you up to one month before you are needed. Must be available on weekends, mornings, and evenings. Hours are most consistent from August-October **
MANAGING DIRECTORS AND OTHER GROUP SENIOR MANAGERS
MDs/Senior Managers are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their Business units, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out and that safe working procedures are in place at all locations within their remits and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it.
SITE MANAGERS
Site Managers are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their location, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, as the ‘Responsible Person’ (see the HS001 for definition) they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated
HEADS OF DEPARTMENT
HODs are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their department, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. ALL OTHER MANAGERS/SUPERVISORS
Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
EMPLOYEES
Employees are responsible for the safety of themselves, their colleagues and guests (where appropriate), in line with the Group Policy (HS001) and the law. In particular, they must ensure that they follow safe working procedures for all work activities that they undertake and they must not use any tools or equipment for which they have not been trained. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are reported to their line manager and must cooperate with any investigation as appropriate.
