Position Overview & Responsibilities
The Academic Success Center is hiring an Assistant Director of Student Success for Retention & Engagement. Reporting to the Vice President and Dean of Student Outcomes and Success, the Assistant Director manages multiple processes and outreach focused engagement and retention of students including the registration process for all incoming freshmen and the coordination and outreach to all students who do not register for fall and spring classes. The Assistant Director managed all Success Center communications to all students including texting, emailing and phone. The AD manages ASC email inbox, and triages all requests for success coaching and assigns incoming student requests to particular success coaches in the ASC. The AD in charge of the ASC webpages and social media accounts and is the primary liaison with our Admissions team. The AD manages the academic side of the college’s CARE systems.
The position requires a commitment to and experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion, preferably in a higher education setting, cultural competency, and ability to relate to and to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty, representing diverse identities, communities and experiences.

  • Manages the registration process for all new freshmen including the ASC communications with new students throughout the summer - texting, email, phone calls
  • Serves as the central ASC liaison to Admissions office managing the collection of data on the academic interest form completed by all new students
  • Serves as the ASC member of the CARE team
  • Manages the collection, processing and triaging of CARE reports and student concerns that come through the ASC
  • Monitors the ASC staff use of CARE and the colleges CRM to ensure a uniform standard of quality in reporting and follow-up by ASC Staff
  • Manages the registration process for all new freshmen including the ASC communications with new students throughout the summer - texting, email, phone calls
  • Manages the ASC webpage and social media outreach - facebook, instagram, TicTok and direct to student campaign via the college’s artificial intelligence, Mackbot.
  • Manages the communications and forms platform in the colleges CRM
  • Manages the outreach process to all students who do not register for classes - email, texting and phone calls - including tracking of all leave of absence students
  • Serves as an advisor and success to a caseload of students

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred.
  • 1 - 3 years of experience managing communications, webpages, and social media platforms
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Cultural competence and ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shift in changing priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, with tight and shifting deadline.

Unless otherwise stated above, this is an on-campus position. This is not a remote or hybrid position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
