What are the responsibilities and job description for the Woodwork Machine Operator position at Merritt.?
- Work consists of routine tasks, processes and performing operations prescribed by drawings, work orders and procedures
- Set up and operation of machinery such as edgebanders, moulders, shapers, dowel insertion machine, saws and wide belt sanders
- Inspection of parts for quality and accuracy

Tag, mark, and apply labels to appropriate materials
- Experience with wood processing tools and equipment
- Experience with domestic and exotic solid woods and veneers
- Must possess working knowledge of woodworking and manufacturing including measuring and use of millwork drawings
- Must perform all aspects of routine work, meeting quality standards and requirements
- Achieve results in an accurate and timely manner
- Maintain awareness of shipping schedules and adjust work capacity needs as required
- Keep work areas clean and safe
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, managers and others
- Must be willing to share knowledge and ideas
- Perform activities that directly support team outcomes
- Must be flexible in cross-training
- Perform duties based on instructions/past practices
- Respond positively to direction in order to provide assistance to others
- May require some follow-up in new areas
- Take responsibility for own contributions to team/unit goals
- Ability to grip and grasp lumber and panels for fabrication
- Must be able to do repetitive lifting of materials weighing approximately 40 lbs, along with standing, manipulation; turning and twisting of wrists and hands

Salary : $34,800 - $44,100
