Mesa's Pensacola location seeks a P&C Substation Designer to assist our team with the design of deliverables associated with substation P&C design projects. This will include single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, panel front elevations, AC & DC schematics, equipment, and switchboard wiring diagrams, bills of materials, vendor mechanism drawings, and logic diagrams using AutoCAD design software. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong 480VAC industrial electrical design or maintenance background and experience with an emphasis on Controls.
Education/Experience:
- Associates or better in Engineering Technology or related field.
- Associates or better in Industrial Electronics or related field.
- Bachelors or better in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 3 years: 3 to 5 years working in substation design or equivalent 480VAC industrial electrical design or maintenance background and experience with an emphasis on Controls
Responsibilities
- Serve as a Quality champion for Mesa and the design team and be part of Mesa’s Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Foster strong customer relationships through communications and support.
- Desire/interest to cross-train in additional disciplines for professional growth
- Estimating and assisting in the preparation of bid packages.
- Attending on-site scoping meetings as requested for projects.
- Must be able to complete assignments within budget and schedule with a high degree of accuracy to provide quality deliverables.
- Must have willingness to work overtime as required for customers’ needs.
- Mentor others in group to increase knowledge of P&C substation design.
- May be designated to check/review other personnel work for accuracy/adherence to client/national standards.
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements. Share updates with team and leads to continually improve communications and quality.
