Job Description and Details:
Rapidly Growing (Inc. 500, Smart 50, Fast 50) Supply Chain Management Company has an immediate opening for a full time Project Engineer(s). This position will work with customers and suppliers in sourcing country quality engineers in China, India, Vietnam, Mexico and Poland.
Primary responsibilities include managing APQP & PPAP processes for new projects as well as design changes; participating in supplier quality audits; managing supplier quality and building relationships with their contacts at assigned customer locations.
Specific Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Initiating APQP process with customers and suppliers.
- Creating and maintaining balloon drawings and inspection reports.
- Developing key quality points based on communications with customer engineers and suppliers.
- Assisting suppliers with development of control plans, PFMEA, gage plans and other documents part of the APQP process.
- Working with suppliers and customers to make design changes to improve manufacturability.
- Provide customers with excellent service by managing gaps in quality system including product certification and by assisting suppliers with Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action development and implementation.
- Issuing Corrective Actions and keeping track of key metrics including Customer Quality PPM and Supplier Quality PPM, inspection costs, etc.
- Rollout new programs and requirements to our origin country supplier quality engineers.
- Coordinate open issues and reviews with sourcing side supplier quality engineers.
- Maintain In-house MESH© System and help upgrade the processes and systems for better APQP metrics.
Ideal candidate should have:
- Experience in manufacturing and inspection equipment and methods
- Experience with Honda or it’s Tier I APQP process, a plus
- Experience working with offshore suppliers, a plus
- Minimum 5-10 years of quality engineer or project management experience
- Experience in die-castings or other casting processes, a plus
- Experienced in ISO9001 procedures and quality audits.
- Experience in putting together PPAP packages.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong belief in customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
- Ability to do some travel (domestic/intl) to customers and suppliers (10%)
- Experience with Lean/six sigma methodologies, a plus
- Location: Pune, India
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline required.
· Five years of related experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $78,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
