What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exterminator position at Mesquite ISD?
JOB TITLE: Exterminator
REPORTS TO: Pest Control Supervisor
ASSIGNMENT: Facilities Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Texas Drivers License with less that three (3) moving traffic violations within the past three (3) years
- State Pest Control License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrate aptitude and ability to complete tasks involving physical labor.
- Exhibit to read and comprehend all labels.
- Possess knowledge of state rules and requirements regarding pest control.
Experience:
- Successful previous experience in performing pest control.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Operate equipment in a safe manner.
- To complete work orders as quickly and safely as possible.
- Maintain required documentation of pesticides, their use and frequency.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Pest control in all kitchens.
EQUIPMENT:
- Spray equipment protection gear when necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:
- Reading and comprehending simple instructions both written and oral.
- Writing simple required reports.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
- Lifting, pushing and or carrying of materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Reaching with hands and arms.
- Sitting, stooping, squatting and kneeling, reaching above the head and reaching forward.
- Working inside and outside.
- Exposure to dampness and humidity, slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Exposure to toxic chemicals.
- Using a respirator and other safety equipment.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
