The Operations Manager – Batavia is responsible for meeting corporate objectives in such areas as productivity, employee health and safety, budgeting, cost containment, and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inform facility team leaders and managers of corporate objectives and develop plans and processes to meet goals.
- Coordinate the execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity (including manpower).
- Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of production to minimize costs and maximize profitability through direction and supervision of plant personnel and the implementation of innovative manufacturing techniques.
- Develop and monitor budgets for areas of responsibility.
- Monitor employee health and safety performance and ensure that operations are in compliance with accepted safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Monitor productivity and quality of the product.
- Monitor delivery performance.
- Support planning and quality improvement projects in plant departments.
- Responsible for operation of the facility in the absence of the Site Manager.
- Interview, hire, and terminate employees as necessary.
- Conduct performance reviews on a semi-annual basis.

- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. (Degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry, Technology, or Engineering. An MBA is also helpful but not required.)
- Seven to ten years of progressive responsibility in production management.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system, and other office machinery.
- Understanding of NFPA, EPA, emissions, and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
