We are currently seeking a Drafter to join the drafting team working under the direction of the VP of Engineering, the Drafter is responsible for providing accurate product drawings needed across all departments. These drawings need be able to be easily interpreted to assist in production, sales, material procurement, approval process and assist the end user in the installation and troubleshooting process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate drawings for the production floor, vendors, purchasing, and customer within a timely manner.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the company product line and the modern industry standards and regulations.
- Have a understanding of the manufacturing process of the product.
- Maintain an ability to convey the drawing specifications to fellow employees not well versed in reading drawings
- Maintain a clear and concise communication process with the production floor
- Works closely with VP of Engineering to ensure accuracy of drawings as well as maintain a clear line of communication.
- Ability to draw current products from vision/ visualize product as drawn.
- Able to maintain excellent working relationships with a wide variety of departments involved in the production process
- Understand and specify needed materials on product
- Compute mathematical formulas to find correct dimensions
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or required
- Two-year degree in drafting or engineering, or on-the-job experience
- Ability to use computer software, including drafting software, and Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- Ability to read blueprints
- Compute formulas to find correct dimensions
- Solid mathematical skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects at once
- Very detail oriented
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to take basic measurements
