Meta is seeking a full-time Accountant to join the Global Corporate Accounting team. In this specific role, you will be responsible for performing accounting transactions and processes to support daily operations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. You will play a critical role in Meta’s month-end financial close process and will be given the opportunity to problem solve and drive process improvements to support scale as Meta’s business continues to grow. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with experience working in a multinational organization, ideally in the area of financial accounting / financial reporting. The candidate will play an integral role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and presentation. Corporate Accounting, Accountant Responsibilities:
- Work within a Corporate Accounting global process function, with responsibility for key financial reporting areas (P&L and BS)

Help define and implement scalable accounting processes related to month-end and quarter-end close

Contribute to the quarterly SEC reporting cycle

Coordinate and review the work of our outsourced partners

Oversee US GAAP month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis

Partner with our global team to optimize worldwide processes, systems & controls

Lead projects to identify, design, test and roll-out new financial reporting systems and tools

Ensure compliance with key controls and audit requirements, and provide accounting support to our statutory compliance teams

Create strong business partnerships and manage service levels with third party service providers
Minimum Qualifications:

BA/BS degree required in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

Solid knowledge of US GAAP and internal control best practices

Proven planning, analytical, and presentation skills

Organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement

Demonstrate computer and analytical skills, including proficiency in Excel
Preferred Qualifications:

4 years relevant experience in the accounting profession

Big 4 audit experience and CPA

Superb attention to detail yet possesses an understanding of the "big picture” and the importance of risk mitigation and a strong controls environment

Team player and leader who is very comfortable working as part of a larger team distributed across multiple geographic locations

Experience to identify problematic areas and determine root cause

Experience with Oracle Financials, SAP or ERP system
