Shading Tech Artist, Avatars Responsibilities:
- Ensure Avatars to retain their unique look and creative intent across various render targets and platforms
- Champion the highest quality and fidelity of Avatars, while partnering with engineering to fit within performance constraints of real time targets
- Leverage the latest techniques to set signature and intentional looks for Avatars
- Build and document templates and best practices that scale to the variety of Avatars supported, with an emphasis on stability and performance
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience to successfully deliver one or more high complexity projects (AAA title or feature film or VR/AR Project) as a Shader Writer, Shading TA or Technical Artist
- Firm understanding of physically based rendering principles and shading techniques
- Experience coding shaders for real-time applications with a solid understanding performance and tradeoffs
- Experience with Linux, and scripting languages such as Python, C# and Lua
- Experience with version control systems and coding standards
- Understanding of lighting, color, shading, and photography techniques
- Experience influencing and collaborating with Engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hero character shading and/or character systems
- Experience as a production artist
