The purpose for this role is to input and output of products through the assembly department based on meeting the customers quality needs and on time requirement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Store and organize components.
- Work with engineering on new product processes.
- Work on Quality of products through all departments by the improvement of documentation of the process.
- Straighten parts as necessary.
- Create Setup sheets on jobs as necessary.
- Position and assembles parts according to special instructions, routings, and blueprints.
- Write special instructions for assembly of products per blueprint.
- Measure parts to specified tolerances.
- Deburr, grind, and buff parts.
- Record time on labor sheets for each process of assembly.
- Pull parts for each job from stock room when needed.
- Inspect all parts for cleanliness and flaws. If flaws exist, complete Nonconforming Material Report.
- Send assembled products to test and/or quality assurance for final inspection.
- Repair nonconforming products.
- Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace parts as required.
- Operate drill press, arbor press, pneumatic tools, and hand tools to aid in assembly.
- Use chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints, and inks, as required.
- Keep assembly department clean and free of foreign object damage.
- Return all unused parts to stock.
- Keep inventory of supplies such as: loctites, cotton swabs, towels, tags, etc.
- Use equipment such as: arbor press, grinder, soldering equipment, belt sander, drill press, magnifying glass (microscope), ovens, sonic machine, test rigs, fixtures and gauges, and hydraulic press.
- Keep production supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Exceptional problem solving and decision making skills and the ability to think independently.
- Must be able to work in other areas on an as needed basis.
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Show initiative in work by being a self starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
- Personnel performing acceptance activities of product shall have natural or corrected near-vision acuity of 20/20 in at least one eye per Titmus screening or equivalent.
