Job Overview:
The Maintenance Manager oversees the repairs, installations and upkeep of various buildings, offices, and the facility. Their main duties include, designating maintenance procedures, tracking budgets and expenses and performing inspections on different facilities to find problems and make repairs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Hires and trains employees.
  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules of maintenance to employees.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Conducts evaluations that are timely and constructively.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Inspect and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.
  • Plans repair work using building’s blueprints or equipment manuals as needed.
  • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples, may include repairing doors, painting, car problems, and other building fixtures.
  • Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly. Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
  • Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments, delegates assignments based on team member’s skills and experience.
  • Tracks and logs workers’ time, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.
  • Collaborates with other managers and supervisor to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Solve maintenance issues and provide excellent facility care.
  • Supervise employees and contractors when Maintenance is required.
  • Performs other clerical duties.

  • Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up and push up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, sit, climb, move hands and arms to grasp and manipulate objects by pushing and pulling.
  • Tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
